New Student Convocation Speaker
Part of Diego's responsibility as the student body president was to deliver the Convocation Welcome Speech to the incoming class of 2013 alongside university’s president's cabinet. He encouraged the incoming students to enjoy their college experience by getting involved in something which encourages them to pursue their passion. "If you do what you love and you love what to do, you will never work a day in your life." Diego shared stories about his personal experience at Saint Mary's and how his mentors guided him in the right direction to be able to make the most effective impact possible on the campus. Through his stories, Diego inspired the 800 students and orientation leaders to live a life of unknowns because the best things in life happen right outside of our comfort zones. Diego finished his fourth year at Saint Mary's and through his efforts of connecting the campus and the town of Moraga, left a legacy amongst both communities of being a passionate, charismatic, and inspirational leader.
